In episode 4, we welcome Mercedes Azpilicueta, a visual and performance artist from Buenos Aires, who calls Amsterdam home.
For Sounds Like, we asked Mercedes to create a sound piece responding to the theme Voicing Abstraction, which explores the potentialities inherent in the poetics of spoken language, asking: is it possible to name a shapeless thing? Mercedes responded with her piece Seized Atelier.
In the first chapter of our conversation, Mercedes walks us through her physical places of enunciation – Argentina and the Netherlands – as well as her conceptual ones, together with Pablo José Ramírez.
